Cleaning and treatment of terracotta floor in solarium with mold problems in several areas

Image
In this work we find a fairly large solarium with a reddish-hued terracotta floor that had never been treated before and which had normally been cleaned using a pressurized water machine. Needless to say, we reiterate our recommendation to avoid at all costs the use of this type of pressurized water machines for cleaning terracotta floors, as they can deteriorate the surface of the slab, until it turns into dust. Returning to this work, the main problem that had the terracotta floor was the areas where it had embedded mold. Here we show you some photos of the initial state of the mud floor of the solarium : After performing the process of elimination of moldy areas and cleaning the rest of the terracotta floor of the solarium, we wait a few days for the soil to dry completely, to return and apply protective treatment for outdoor terracotta floors . In this case the client chose the wet effect finish that enhances the natural coloring of the terracotta slab intensi...

TERRACOTTA FLOOR IN BATH WITH SALITER BY FLOODING OF PIPE BREAK

Image
On this occasion we find a job that is usual when there is a broken pipe and we have a terracotta floor with closed pores for having applied some kind of protective treatment. In these cases it happens that the humidity of the interior when trying to evaporate, is with the closed pore of the slab of mud and therefore not being able to evaporate is just below forming a white spot of saltpeter that we can not access and that Of course it gives a horrible appearance to the mud floor. It is very important to know that before proceeding to restore the mud floor, the leakage of water must have been repaired; otherwise the saltpeter would appear again soon. Here you can see the initial state that we are : The first step that we have to do in these cases is to proceed to stripping to eliminate the previous treatment of the terracotta floor and therefore be able to open the pore of the slab and in this way proceed then to the eradication of the mold and saltpeter that h...

EXTERIOR TERRACOTTA FLOOR WITH STRONG PROBLEM RUST

Image
This client called us to go and see the terracotta floor of his house that presented an important problem of a large number of areas with a lot of embedded scum. This problem occurs especially in areas facing north where, because they are very dark areas and where moisture accumulates in winter, scum find the ideal place to thrive and on a terracotta floor without any protective treatment, they find a guest with porous surface where to be able to root strongly and in depth. The client had tried for a long time to remove the scum using pressurized water machines, managing to remove much of the surface but not being able to penetrate internal layers of the slab. In addition, this method of using pressurized machines is extremely damaging to mud floors; since these machines work at important pressure bars that damage the surface of terracotta floor and gradually wear it down until the terracotta slab starts to granulate and to get rid little by little and in many cases becoming ir...

TERRACOTTA FLOOR TREATMENT CLEAR TONE WITH FINISH RUSTIC LEATHER EFFECT

Image
In this work we find a terracotta floor of clear tonality that had just been placed after the reform of a single-family house in Los Monteros (Marbella). After having a meeting with the client, she told us that she liked the finished leather effect treatment that, although it changes the natural tone of the clay tile, is the one that convinced her the most. In this way after showing some examples of similar work done we confirmed the work and the type of leather effect finish. Here we leave photos of the entire process : INITIAL STATE FLOOR AFTER CLEANING PHASE FLOOR FINISH AFTER LEATHER EFFECT TREATMENT APPLICATION
