CLEANING WORK AND TREATMENT OF MECHANICAL TERRACOTA FLOOR INSIDE HOUSING

On this occasion we find a mechanical type terracotta floor. Only one of the rooms had been placed completely new, and in the rest the terracota had been placed much longer and had problems of some scratches and stains embedded; in addition to the normal wear and tear of the old treatment.

The floors of mechanical terracotta are pavements that unlike the manual mud, these are manufactured using a hydraulic press that compacts the slab and makes it less thick, with a more regular surface than an artisan clay slab. The finish is very similar to that of a porcelain tile taking into account that the difference is that it is still terracotta and therefore retaining the differentiating character that a terracotta tile has on a porcelain tile.

Despite being much more compact slabs than artisan clay, they still have a high degree of porosity, which is very susceptible to absorb stains, so it is essential to proceed with the application of a protective treatment to waterproof them .

Below we show you photos of the entire work process carried out from the cleaning phase, to the final result obtained after application of protective treatment, with a satin effect finish, according to the client's choice.
