TERRACOTTA INTERIOR FLOOR IN VERA (ALMERIA)

In this work we had to proceed to the recovery of an interior terracotta floor in a detached house on a farm located in Vera (Almería).

The soil that had been treated for a long time had the typical deteriorations due to the passage of time such as scratches, dull coloring and areas where the degree of waterproofing had been lost or began to do so.

The procedure to be followed was first to strip to remove any remaining old treatment, open the pore and clean stains that were embedded. Afterwards, rinse cleaning was carried out to eliminate remnants of saltpeter and leave the soil ready to dry in order to proceed with the treatment phase.

Finally after four days of waiting for the soil to dry completely, we returned to proceed to apply protective treatment for interior terracotta floors. In this case, the clients chose the wet effect finish that intensifies the natural coloring of the clay.
